Chapter XXXVII: Farms

While talking about pets still, we also have mechanics regarding how to obtain and store them.

My idea would be something similar to FFTA farms…a place (can be a farm, a reserve, a zoo…it’s up to dev team to decide this) related to a certain city/hamlet or company (if it’s a zoo-like storage system, I’d love having it hamlet-based…imagine an ever-growing zoo in each hamlet where beastmasters, shepherds and hunters can store the wild animals they capture so they can be summoned by people from that hamlet) where all citizens can store their pets. Obviously, though, that they will have storage limit so if people want many pets, they would b e required to invest of these areas. Here some examples of storage areas:

-Stables: You can store chocobos here. Mainly for transportation and Chocobo Knight pets (breeding and hatching).

-Zoo/Reserve: You can store wild beasts here. This is required for beastmasters to generate familiars (charm would have a very small success rate but, once it works, the monster would be sent to zoo. The very same mechanics would work for Hunter’s Capture action…very low success rate but when it works the monster is sent to zoo) since a summoning jug can only be created from captured monsters and for morphers since they require the creature to be captured for soul linking used to shapeshift. This is also where shepherds can also breed rare monsters for a more frequent farming.

-Dragon Sanctuary: Where the wyverns are stored. It’s required for dragoons not only for pet storage but also as part of the quest to unlock it. It could be used as other features, as wyvern breeding and even as training room too for citizens.

-Sacrificial Chamber: The place where the avatar pacts are fulfilled. Here is where the summoning scrolls from summoners are stored and where vessels/channelers learn the art of avatar possession.

-Taverns: Area where Spoken “pets” would be stored. After all, that’s what negotiator is for…capturing” allies…from beastmen, mercenaries and bandits to even true heroes (remember about heritage? About turning already leveled characters into NPCs? I bet those who read that would think I was wasting the characters, right? But it’s that thing…one’s waste is another’s gold…NPCed characters, if high enough, can be upgraded to “hero” rank by mediators and then summoned by them to fight alongside with them!).

-Factories: Area where pupetmasters and other forgekin-users (maybe a garlean class that simulates the primals with machines...would be nice a "eidolon-like" summoner class) store their forgekin pets.

-Your house: Well, your generic pet, like a dog, cat or bird, would stay in your house. This one would be exclusive of each player, being allowed only one per player and it staying in your home unless summoned.

So, again, the bigger the hamlet/city becomes the better the rewards for their citizens! ^^
